Over the course of his career, he has not only refined his own skills through rigorous training but has also taken great pride in sharing his knowledge with others. Teaching, training, and mentoring have become an important part of his professional service, reflecting his commitment to strengthening the practice of alternative dispute resolution across the globe.

Lou has designed and presented mediation, negotiation, and arbitration courses at the college level as well as customized training programs for courts, professional groups, and ADR agencies. His teaching has reached diverse audiences ranging from local organizations to international institutions, always with the goal of equipping participants with practical tools and real-world strategies for resolving disputes.

The range of institutions that have sought Lou’s expertise underscores both his reputation and his dedication to the field. His training programs have been hosted by the American Arbitration Association, Dispute Prevention & Resolution, Inc., the National Academy of Arbitrators, the Hawaii Judiciary Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution, the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, and the Mediation Center of the Pacific. Internationally, he has also shared his knowledge through the Singapore Subordinate Court, the Australia Commercial Dispute Centre, the ADR Institute–Ontario, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration, and the Supreme Court of Palau.
